How To Apply GYEON Q² Rim EVO

Correct preparation is extremely important when applying any ceramic coating.

For maximum performance, take your time and ensure the wheels are completely clean, decontaminated and dry before application.

Step 1 – Thoroughly Clean the Wheels

Begin by washing the wheels thoroughly with a suitable wheel cleaner.

Pay particular attention to:

• Wheel faces
• Spokes
• Around wheel bolts
• Brake-dust build-up
• Inner barrels if accessible
• Tight corners and recesses

For the best possible result, removing the wheels from the vehicle can provide easier access to the complete wheel surface.

Step 2 – Remove Iron Contamination

Use a suitable iron and fallout remover to dissolve embedded brake dust and ferrous contamination.

Allow the product to react according to its instructions before rinsing thoroughly.

Step 3 – Remove Tar & Remaining Contamination

If tar spots or other bonded contamination remain, remove these with an appropriate detailing product.

The cleaner the wheel is before coating, the better the coating can bond to the surface.

Step 4 – Completely Dry the Wheels

Ensure the wheels are completely dry.

Pay particular attention to wheel bolts, recesses and spoke edges where water can remain trapped.

Step 5 – Degrease the Surface

Before applying Q² Rim EVO, wipe the wheel thoroughly with a suitable panel preparation product such as GYEON Q²M Prep.

This removes oils, polishing residue and remaining contamination that could interfere with coating adhesion.

Allow the surface to fully dry.

Step 6 – Apply Q² Rim EVO

Shake the bottle before use.

Apply a small amount of Q² Rim EVO to the supplied or suitable coating applicator and spread a thin, even layer across a manageable section of the wheel.

Work methodically to ensure complete coverage.

Thin and even application is key – more product does not necessarily mean better protection.

Step 7 – Level the Coating

After the appropriate working time, carefully level and remove excess coating using a clean, soft microfibre towel.

Inspect the surface carefully under good lighting for high spots or remaining residue.

Use a second clean towel for a final buff where required.

Step 8 – Allow the Coating to Cure

Once application is complete, allow the coating to cure in a clean, dry environment and protect the wheels from water and contamination during the initial curing period.
